Our People:

Brian Marcel

Brian founded the Company in 1982 with his late wife Liz selling bar code original artwork or Film Masters. The company grew rapidly and after five years pioneered the concept of providing a total solution to tracking including hardware, software, wireless infrastructure integration and services.

In 1990, just after the Berlin Wall fell, Brian founded the International Bar Code Systems (IBCS) group in Eastern Europe and is still the region's No 1 enterprise mobility solutions integrator.

Brian has been on the AIM UK and AIM Global boards since 1985 and an invited member of the AIDC 100 group, formed from the most influential industry leaders internationally.

In his spare time Brian mentors University entrepreneurs and is an Adult and Family Magistrate

In October 2013 Brian was awarded the The Richard R. Dilling Award at the 40th Anniversary Summit of AIM Global. The Award is considered to be the highest given in the AIDC industry in recognition of lifetime achievements that have furthered industry growth through significant applications and new technological developments. In presenting this and other awards, Chuck Evanhoe, Chairman of AIM Inc. acknowlledged that "The 2013 recipient (of The RIchard R.Dilling Award), Brian Marcel of the IBCS Group in the United Kingdom, has been actively involved in AIDC market development in Europe for more than 35 years.

“Without the efforts of these individuals, our industry would not be as strong and successful as it is today – or will be tomorrow. Everyone involved in the AIDC industry is indebted to their commitment to our profession and we applaud their selection.”

Everyone in the IBCS Group is delighted that Brian's leadership in taking AutoID technologies across Central Europe and onward into China - and his passion for our industry almost since its inception - has been recognised by his peers with this Award. There is no finer accolade in the industry.
